Would you rather be comfortable...or achieve your full potential? You can't have both.
This is a great TED talk from Peter Bregman, whose Harvard blog is one of my must-reads.
His story about his learning to write through rejections and criticism is really worth a look - and listen.
Loved the you tube video and the analogies in this as I am a parent of young kids too. Loved his blog on whether one should be an entrepreneur and glad i fit the 'role"..... Shared this on fbk so hope others take it up too.

Wonderful, I'm going to share this with my friends now.
The thing is, as wonderful and inspirational as it sounds to "go take a jump and do your thing" - the less interesting but rather important question for me at least is - how did you pay the bills?
Hi to my friends at Business Chic! And yes indeed, I always emphasise the practical in my carer change and smallbiz work. I'm a great fan of the transitioned move, where you moonlight back in your old world occasionally to keep some cashflow (and so you can sleep at night...). I went to 3 days a week as a lawyer for a while, then contract work - and even now I do some compliance consulting so I can feel freer to take necessary risks in my core business. It works for me :)
