5 Great Questions

Thursday 26th February 2009 | No comments

Many people hesitate before implementing change in their business or recommending a change to their employer. It is one thing (and an excellent thing) to come up with lots of creative ideas, but quite another to integrate them successfully into business operations.

These questions will help you sort the practical ideas from the 'pie in the sky' type and to prevent change just for the sake of change. (And they'll also give you confidence if you're hesitating about making any changes in your workplace...)

  1. Is your proposed innovation results-oriented? Do you have a specific result in mind, and why is that result important to your business?
  2. Does the innovation optimise resources? Will the innovation create more efficiency in your business?
  3. Is there a balanced input and output associated with the innovation? Will the innovation yield a reasonable outcome/result for the amount of work/energy/resources that it will require
  4. Is the innovation user friendly? Will the innovation be easily understood and used by your staff; will it make things easier for you and your staff?
  5. Is the innovation simple and trackable? Will you be able to easily monitor and quantify the impact of the innovation?
