In January every year I teach a 5 day writing workshop at Camp Creative. This year it was on the elements of story, which gave us a great excuse to watch movies like To Kill a Mockingbird and share our favourite stories. It was fun.

I recently did some workshops for the Victorian government on using creative thinking for sustainability. I had a great time researching good examples - including the story of Ray Anderson. Do you know about him?

I recently rediscovered the YouTube video of Steve Jobs' 2005 Stanford commencement address. He talks about his own university experiences, and in particular, his decision to drop out. This was a big thing for him (he describes it a 'pretty scary'), because his biological parents had stipulated that whoever adopted him had to agree to send him to university.

I've been teaching a career workshop this week and talking about working with your strengths to get to that state that Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi calls flow. It's an almost automatic, effortless, yet highly focused and pleasurable state of consciousness where you are in your element and performing at your peak.
