I came across this new TED talk over Easter. The speaker is Kathryn Schultz, who rather fabulously calls herself a 'wrongologist'. It's all about how we need to embrace being wrong - she's a good speaker, and it's a really interesting topic. So, make yourself a coffee, settle back, and watch it.

I'm running a workshop this week that includes reference to critical thinking as well as creative thinking. It has reminded me of my law student days, when I took an elective in Socratic questioning and Aristotelian logic. I really enjoyed learning the system of uncovering truth by using questions, but haven't consciously used it much until I came to prepare for this workshop.

I am putting together a workshop for rural leaders at the moment - it's a return gig (always nice...) and the organiser reminded me that the hit process last year was Reverse Goals (or LAOGs). This tool is a great way to jump-start your ideas. It works like a double negative, and interrupts brain patterns to force you into some new ideas.

A few weeks ago, I went to a Network Central breakfast where The Gruen Transfer's Jane Caro was speaking. She gave a really entertaining talk on things she has learned about life and stuff.I have started my own list, but it's taking its own time to come together. So, it seemed like a good final post for 2010 (the blog will now take a break til early January) to share Jane Caro's list.
